Scales of Silence

This is the couch co-op version of the classic video game “Snake”, made for up to 8 players.

We probably don’t have to explain how “Snake” works, but we’ll do it anyway: As a snake, you move across the playing field, collect fruits and get continiously longer as you eat. If you collide with an obstacle (or yourself), it’s game over. From the pre-installed version on Nokia smartphones in the late 1990s to modern spin-offs on consoles: this classic video game has seen countless variations. “Scales of Silence” now turns it into a couch co-op party set inside a colorful voxel world.

One standout feature is its accessibility: up to 4 people can play on the same keyboard (WASD, IJKL, arrow keys, number pad) and gamepads can be shared by two people. This means you can quickly reach a total of 8 players, and nobody has to take a break in between.

The classic gameplay is made more interesting by a variety of snakes, which differ in speed, acceleration, starting length and growth rate. Additionally, you get a wide range of arenas with special challenges, multiple modes (core Battle, Timed Match, Snake Royale, Endless Classic) and a campaign with boss battles (solo or 2 players). If you like “Snake“, you should give this couch co-op version a try.

Most couch co-op games require one gamepad per player (DualShock 4, DualSense, Nintendo Switch Pro Controller etc.), but sometimes you can share gamepads (PS5, XBOX Series X/S), use a single Joy Con (Switch) or let at least one person utilize a keyboard (PC). Please note: We can’t guarantee that your specific setup works with “Scales of Silence”.

Remote Play Together (Steam) allows you to share local multiplayer games with friends over the internet. Only the host needs to own the game. The service is free.
